While planning to build a house, it is worth carrying out geotechnical soil testing to make sure that the site is suitable for direct foundation of the building. The geotechnical tests are of particular importance in the case of ready designs that are developed with the assumption that the soil has got sufficient load-bearing capacity.

The geotechnical soil tests carried out by a geologist or a soil engineer allow the architect for proper selection of the type of foundations and reinforcement, and in case of catalogue designs, for adequate adjustment of the design to the soil conditions. It is of great importance for the safety of the house structure, and helps to make the right decisions on the foundation of the house, and the protection of  basement against the effects of groundwater and problems with periodic flooding of the plot by rainwater.

Scope of the soil testing:

  • site investigation of the testing area,
  • determination of places and survey levelling of the designed exploratory boreholes,
  • drilling,
  • macroscopic analysis of soil,
  • dynamic probing with DPL probe of non-cohesive soils (optional),
  • measurement of the depth of the groundwater table,

As the result, we prepare a geotechnical report with the results of the executed tests and recommendations for the foundation,

The costs of soil testing for the house and of preparing the geotechnical documentation is the investment in the safety of your construction undertaking.
